Bony Rig Animated Gumball Scene

In this Maya animation, my focus was on timing in an animated Scene. The goal behind this Animation was to have the character approach the gumball machine just to not have enough money to get themselves a gumball. They then used the various items in their pockets to try to get a gumball, including a paperclip, a giant key, and a bazooka. The timing of this scene was important to the comedy of the final animation. So was the camera work. I set up four different cameras. One for the walk cycle up to the machine, one for the side shot of the character and the gumball machine, one for the wide angle side shot to get the larger items in frame, and one for the closeup of the Hand with the paperclip. I used the sequence editor to cut to the different cameras during the playblast. I used The various NURBS curves that were attached to the rig and then keyframed those curves to complete the animation and I used the graph editor to edit the timing and smoothness of the animation, as well as working on nuanced techniques such as mirroring the limbs. |
