About Me

I have always been fascinated with design. Colors, shapes, and logos coming together to display a cohesive message. I believe I have a good eye when it comes to design. I took it upon myself to learn photoshop when I was about 14 years old because like most kids at that age, I wanted to start a Youtube channel. I went through the process of logo design, thumbnail design, and banner design for the channel. I was laying the groundwork for my future career. Check out my article on Logo Design + Animation for more!

I started my 3D journey like most people, in Blender. Blender is a free 3D modeling software (among other things too) that is open source and has a massive community of creators behind it. There I learned the basics of shape creation, manipulation, and how to use those to create more complex figures. Throughout my collegiate career I took some more advanced 3D modeling classes to learn how to sculpt, UV map, render, and rig my models in Autodesk Maya. I then took a Virtual Reality class and that's when everything clicked. I realized the workflow necessary for creating a complete video game project. Photoshop for the textures, UVs, and texture maps. Maya for the 3D models and rigs and throw them all into Unreal Engine to create the final product with blueprints and the node editor. Over this time, I developed a passion for creating this way.

I hope to further develop my career in 3D art and environmental art with internships and a full-time career. Please email me if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Nathan Neville
