Bony Rig Roundhouse Kick Scene

In this scene, I wanted to focus on using reference footage for my animation as well as utilizing proper anticipation to make the movement look more realistic. I found some footage online of a person doing a spinning kick and used that as reference footage. I used the Handbrake app to import the footage and render it at 24fps rather than the 30fps (the video’s original speed). I then went through the video and mapped out important key poses, matching them to my rigged character. Afterwards I went back and added the in-between keyframes, so the animation looked smoother. I also set up the scene so that the character was kicking something. I then animated that object falling as it would in real life.
