PolyWorld Virtual Reality Project

This was my mid-semester project for my Virtual Reality class. I chose to create an environment of my own design to explore various objects and sound throughout the world. This was very much a learning experience for me as you will see.
I created this environment all inside of Blender and exported the models as an FBX file. Doing this unfortunately erased all of my materials from the blender file and also all of my models were not 2-sided meaning there were holes in them on the opposite side of the solid side. I gradually colored all of the materials and toggled all of the models to be 2-sided which took me about an hour and a half. Fun times.
After I got all of the models and environemnt how I wanted it to be, I decided it was time to try and enter the world. But, that would be too easy as when I went to put down the navigation mesh for the VR player, it would hover about a foot and a half above the "ground" that I modeled. I then messed around with the hitboxes and structure of the models to see if the mesh was getting stuck one something and it was. Now, the problem was that the scale was off so when I went to travel in the world I would only move a maximum of about 2 inches each time. Painful. I ended up having to remodel the entire landscape inside of Unreal Engine and layer the other models on top of it.
Below is the finished product demo video, enjoy!
