This was one of my first 3D modeling project for my upper-level modeling course. We were tasked to model Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast. My Professor has a toy version of him that he took reference pictures of and we were required to model off of those. It had been a couple months since I had opened back up Maya so it took me about an hour to remember all of the shortcuts again.

I started by importing my references images and lining them up to get them even on each side. Going into the orthographic view I started looking at the figure to see if I could deduce the most basic shapes that this model was made out of. I used cylinders, donuts, and spheres to create the basic shape of Lumiere. I then used the cut tool to add edge loops where I needed them to add details into the base and hands of Lumiere. Next, I created the material for Lumiere. I used an arnold shader to make the metalness and changed the specular to make it less shiny. I then used Arnold render and added an HDRI to simulate realistic lighting and an environment.

Below is my final render for Lumiere, thanks for reading!
